So, you finished developing your awesome mobile app. That’s great!
Unfortunately, the hard part is not over yet. If the app doesn’t get downloads, your hard work is for nothing unless you created it only for your friends and family.
Let’s face it, mobile app installs are very important for both ASO (App Store Optimization) and users. The apps with more downloads tend to rank higher, and users tend to trust apps with a high number of downloads more.
Some might say that app downloads on Play Store don’t impact the rankings, but let’s face it, they most likely do. They could be seen as an endorsement, as backlinks are for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
So, let’s see how you can increase the downloads of your iOS and/or Android app.
1. Create a Presentation Website
A website can be a great source of traffic.
It’s also a better way to present your app with more details and in a more visually appealing way. It beats a simple description on Google Play Store or Apple App Store, no?
With platforms like WordPress, you can launch a site quick and easy in just a couple of days if you don’t have a lot of content.
Of course, you’ll have to focus on SEO for your website to have a better chance of getting organic traffic, which is the best kind of traffic.
So, even if it needs a bit of work, it will pay off, and it’s also a good practice for ASO, which is similar to SEO.
2. Improve Your ASO
ASO stands for App Store Optimization, and it’s similar to SEO, which applies to websites, as I mentioned above.
ASO allows you to improve your app’s visibility by optimizing your app’s page metadata, such as title, description, images, etc.
In all of those, you should add the right keyword(s) that people search for when looking for apps like yours. Having the wrong keyword, or, worse, no keyword, will negatively impact your rankings in app stores.
So, ASO is really important and can definitely help drive installs for your mobile app.
3. Get Social
If you’re not the social or social media type, then I have some bad news. You still have to do this.
Twitter, Facebook, Reddit – you name it. Try and promote your app on any relevant social media website.
Don’t just spam the same thing every day, though. Try to add relevant and informative posts, and also try to connect with potential users and developers from the industry.
It’s all about getting noticed.
4. The Easiest Way – Buy Ads!
If you have a hefty wallet and don’t want to spend time on guerrilla marketing, then let ads reach the users.
Google, Twitter, and/or Facebook Ads would be the best bet. Reddit, too, I think.
You’ll still need some marketing skills, though, to grab the viewers’ attention and make them engage with the ads.
If they’re dull, then they won’t get clicks. No clicks, no app downloads. No downloads, no money.
That’s it! I hope these tips will help you increase your app downloads!
